History

A Borough Polytechnic Institute opened inside 1892. Within 1970, it changed its name to the Polytechnic institute of the South Bank & within 1987 it changed again to South Bank Polytechnic. Around 1992, it became one of the Conservative government's new universities, calling itself South Bank University. Last, within 2003, it changed its name to London South Bank University.

Students
